The Kite Map system has been designed to provide as much information as possible, using integrated Google maps.
Searching Kite Flying sites:
- Locate nearby Sites with address, city or postal code.
- All results listed on left of the map with clickable Google directions link.
- Map Markers are clickable with extra site details:
- Site name
- Field size
- Ground/turf
- Prevailing wind direction
- Obstructed wind direction
- Unobstructed wind direction
- Nearby facilities (toilet, etc)
- Parking availability
- Website link (if applicable)
- Additional notes and details
- Thumbnail Image
Submitting Kite Flying sites:
- Users can submit Sites directly without needing to register or create an account.
- Marker can be dragged to show exact location, regardless of closest street address.
- User-submitted site details now include:
- Site name
- Field size
- Ground/turf
- Prevailing wind direction
- Obstructed wind direction
- Unobstructed wind direction
- Nearby facilities (toilet, etc)
- Parking availability
- Website link (if applicable)
- Additional notes and details
- Thumbnail Image
- Sites are reviewed and approved by Administrators before they are listed in the database.
